Aptiva - AMD
WIN 98
Cannot get other system info.

After using the IBM Aptiva recovery disk, the following message appears:
"A device or resource required by VFAT is not present, or is unavailable. VFAT cannot continue loading. System halted."

There were problems with Windows and I thought the recovery disk might fix them. I chose "Custom Recovery" from the program on the recovery disk as I did not want to lose personal files - "Specify the files or directory you want to restore." I chose c:\windows\*.*. After running the restore, I was returned to the command prompt. Upon rebooting, I got the message above. I'm at a loss to explain this.
