Hello

I am about to do a fresh install of SBS 2000 Server. However when I did this a few days ago I ran into a few problems (not sure if related to this though).

I first installed W2K server and then SBS and then Exchange 2000.

Then installed W2K Server SP3 which went ahead fine
I then installed the Exchange SP3 and got version conflicts for the stage for MS Search.

Should I say to overwrite the newer file or not overwrite? Will this cause any problems with some files being for one version and not work at all? What should I do?

Thanks

I have no definite solution, but generally speaking you should NOT overwrite files on the first run, the logic being that skipped files can always be added later by reinstalling the service pack, but overwritten files are lost.

As an inital troubleshooting step I would suggest you go back and check the release dates for all service packs, and make sure you're putting them on in the order that they were released.
