Veritas BE 8.6 & USB/Firewire

I have read in the two threads (listed below) conflicting reports...in thread 481-598822, someone claims to have backed up 200+GB to an external (USB) Hard-drive, but in thread 481-598822 someone states it cant be done.

Can BE 8.6 be configured to backup to a USB or Firewire External Hard drive, and if not, can BE 9.1?

both versions should be able to and can.

I currently backup to 200gb drives on the weekends on one of my servers without problems. I am on 9.1.
