VERITAS BE 10 Advanced Open File Agent

Hi all, need advices on the followings :

Is VERITAS BE 10 Advanced Open File Agent bundle with 1 remote agent?

Coz I noticed a Backup Exec Remote Agent serivce is running with the Base Product and a AFOA installed in my server.

And a strange issue is that, must have a RJ45 connected to my server, then can do the backup. If not, my backup will failed with the error stated :

" The Job failed with the following error: The resource could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec For Windows Servers Remote Agent. Make sure that the Remote Agent is installed on the target computer and is running."

Pls advice.

I talked to a salesman today about the AOFA. He told me that there is one Remote Agent included in the package.

I don't entirely understand what the second part of your message is about. It seems like you have the server configured to backup another machine that is not on the network for some reason (or your server is not connected to the network when the job runs).
Suggestions:
1. Remove the remote machine from the backup job if it's no longer on the network
2. Verify that the remote agent is operational and configured properly.
3. Verify that there is proper network communication between the machines running the server and the agent.
4. If the server requires a logon ID and password to connect to the remote machine, make sure they're correct.

The following AOFO license inclused one hidden remote agent call. Veritas assumes you will be backing up the machines remotely. The exchange, sql, oracle, lotus agent follow the same pattern.
