Veritas Backup Exec version 8.5 for Windows 2003 server 1

Hi,

I have Veritas Backup Exec V8.5. could I use this version for backing up SQL server 2000 installed in Windows server 2003. do I need to apply any patches or just install them. please let me know

8.5 ia not supported by Veritas any more and 8.5/8.6 are not suppored on Windows 2003
