VeriSign's Trial SSL newbie question

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has ever installed/used VeriSign's Trial SSL cert?

I requested & got approved for one. To install, VeriSign request to have a "Test CA Root" installed on each browser that I'll be using in the test.

My questions are:
- Can I remove this root if I decide to remove the cert?
- If I want to get another cert from a different company, say GeoTrust, is it a simple process to remove VeriSign cert & install GeoTrust cert?

This is my first experiment with installing a SSL cert to my web server. I plan to purchase GeoTrust's, but they don't offer the trial one, so I'm using VeriSign's trial cert.
