Has anyone attempted the network backup capability available with version 8.3? I was told by Aspect that you could backup your data/voice to a network drive, but that you could not restore your switch with this backup. Has anyone overcome this obstacle?
I can't think of any way to beat that as the ACD is built to look specifically for the tape drive when restoring. We've not really played with the network backup yet, so that's about all I can go on. The restore program is Aspect coded software, so unless they add the feature to restore from network, I wouldn't think you could get around it.
Are you talking about the IVS (Independent Voice System) If so then backing up to a network drive isn't a problem. We haven't had to restore from it yet but the IVS runs on a customer provided server so it should be pretty easy.
