we are using G3v6r.03.3.246.1 Right now I have the following set:

wait 0 silence

route-to number 4502000 (tac, ext) Y unconditionally

stop

I want to put a backup route after this. Is it possible. Also if the first route is going to a tel# and there is no answer can there be a back up if no answer or line is out of order.

we are using G3v6r.03.3.246.1 Right now I have carrier sending 4 digit dnis. Can I go to 5 digit and if so do I need to reprogram every thing all over. With respect to the UDP's and VDN's

If a route-to step gets a busy, it will drop down to the next step in the vector. I believe that's the principle that allows LAI to work. So, you should be able to put another route-to step after your first one and it should work if you're getting a busy on the initial route-to. I would test the crap out of it before I put it into production though. I was doing that with, I think, a version 9.5 G3r. Version 6 may behave differently.

If you get a no answer on your initial route-to, you can probably do some regular or remote coverage to get to the backup point.

Hope that helps.
