Hi there. I am running a sco 5.07 unix system. Last day we had a blackout but i managed to shutdown the server normaly.
Since then i have "vector msgs problems"
The first time the accraid scsi controler conflicted with my usb device)
I enter the m/b bios and disable each device i didnt use..such as usb, serial ports and the parallel port
I thought i bypassed the problem but, when i boot again, i can not take a backup of my files..moreover when i try to do so the whole system stucks and i have to reboot again
I noticed , again, that in the logs i get the message

"scsi adapter: Cannot install intr vecno=12 ,type=4 , IPL=5 vector 12 is private". My alad is using the same vec with my ps2 keyb+mouse.
Any idea how can i solve this problem?
And can you please, how and why this happened
This is my kernel

Another thing i need to ask is that if i can replace the mirror disk with a larger one. I mean, if a a disk crashes (on a mirror with 2 18gb disk, can i replace the crassed one with a 36gb disk.. ? and work as 18bg disk ofcource)
Thank you in advance

i truly hope that you will understand my problem (poor english though)

I've had similar problems in the past. Make sure the PS2 mouse is connected when you power on the server. Even if the O/S doesn't use it. Or, of the PS2 mouse was not attached when you loaded the O/S, keep it off. Just make sure the mouse situation is the same as when the O/S was installed. Your BIOS is shuffling IRQ's on boot-up depending on which hardware it finds. SCO doesn't like that.

As for the Disk question: You should be able to throw a 36GB drive in place of a failed 18GB and use half the drive.

"Proof that there is intelligent life in Oregon. Well, Life anyway.

Thank you very much. Yes..that must be the solution, because as i remember they had disconected the mouse from the server..
Thanks again
