how can i switch from c++ to c my hole (new) project ? *1
how can i determine the asm optimization ? *2

*1, ie use .c files (from the vc 'new' menu) and use C intead of c++

*2, my application will only run on a x type of cpu
how can i tell this to the compiler, to optimize for this type of cpu (or even, for this cpu Only)

sorry if it seems n00bish,
but i been wondering about those for too long lol

start a new project, and click flie, new. a new txt looking document will pop up. type in whatever you want (it wont have syntax highlighting) and then save it as a .c file. then right click on your project in the project browser and click add file. add in your new .c file and there you go.

as to optimization, vc should default to x86.
