hello to all

In Windows XP, the default email client is found in Control Panel/Internet Options/Programs Tab.

From Access VBA, can I do the following...
a) Set the default email client to Outlook Express, then...
b) Restore the default email client to its previous value

Thanks! hope this makes sense

Generally, changing a user's preffered settings, even temporarily, is frowned open. It puts you code into the category of malware.

You can probably achieve your goals without hacking the user settings. Perhaps if you explained your goal we can offer suggestions.

hello JoeAtWork

Here's what I was trying to do. I am using code from this and other web sites to send emails using Outlook Express to parents of my daughter's sports club. If I'm sending from a computer having Outlook as the default Email Program, I'd like it to...
a) use Outlook Express instead (my code won't work in Outlook), then
b) If I've had to change the default Email program, I'd like to change it back once the mailing is done.

Am I going about this the wrong way? Is there a way to force Outlook Express to be used without changing any default settings?

Thank you
Vicky
