Every time one of my users opens a specific Word document the following happens; the Microsoft Visual Basic programming window opens with the heading "Microsoft Visual Basic - Notice Outside Activity Requests - [ThisDocument (Code)]" and he receives the error "Compile error: Member already exists in a object module from which this object module derives"
He told me that he created the document himself and it and he didn't put any macros in it.
Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.

Sorry, but I have to ask the obvious. Did you run a virus check against the file? If not, that would be the first thing to do.
Not a solution, but a work around: try copy and pasting the text into a blank file (opened with normal.dot on someone else's computer).
Good luck.

I get a similar error in Word 2000 when a use closes any document. The error is:
Microsoft Visual Basic
An error occurred while loading 'ThisDocument'. Do you want to continue loading the project?
Yes No Help

If you click yes, Dr. Watson error occurs. If you click No, the doc closes.

Any ideas?

Office 2000 patched current on Windows 2000 Pro workstation, also patched current.
