Does someone have examples on how to connect to a MySQL database with a grid? I have VB 6 studio.

I installed the ODBC driver, but I believe it is too much trouble to setup and I believe that can be by-passed. Is this true? Basically I am wondering if someone has a code snipet that opens a database runs a SQL statement and fill a grid.

TIA

So John, do you have any example code on how to "select" data from a MySQL database? Meaning how to connect to one, query it out and then displaying to a datagrid? I do have the ODBC drivers installed for MySQL. But I see hell coming down the road with a distributed application that has to hassle with the configuration of ODBC. I have seen others that said there are other ways. Anyways any help would be appreciated. I have a database populated with data and am able to connect to it with SQL statements through a front-end without using ODBC. This is where I wonder.

This isn't a code writing facility!

Try MySQL help - ADO samples are at (amongst others)

Try section C
