Hi friends,
I am new to Asp.Net.
I am in a fix which programming language to use for Asp .Net pages.
Whether C# or VB .Net??
I am pretty confused.
Please tell me which one is more demanded in the industry.
Thanks in advance.

Varun,

it is not that which one is more on demand, it is what you are comfortable with. if you have vb 6.0 back ground then go for vb.net and if you have java and c++ background go for c#. If you are start of you carrer then go for C#

if you're used to 'curly brackets' programming languages (such as C++ or Java) then go for C#, if not (an you have used some Delphi) then try VB. I prefer C# to VB anytime

I started in VB and am switching to C# because the company merged with another company that doesn't want to work in VB.Net. What I have found is there are some shortcuts still left in VB that aren't in C# -- we were told by Microsoft that those shortcuts actually make VB slower if they are used than doing them in C#.

I haven't had a problem with the syntax change - only problem I've had was when I knew how to do something simple in VB and wasn't quite so straight forward in C#.

I really like C# now.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Thanks - Jennifer
