Hi,

I have a worksheet(Sheet1) that contains a cell(B22) with a formula adding up values in a column.

In another worksheet in another cell I want to copy over the value from cell(B22), I type =!Sheet1(B22)but all I get is 0.00 and not the correct value. If I paste special the value from the sum in (B22) then this works fine but not what I need.

Am I missing something?

Cheers

S

=Sheet1!B22

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

An alternative to typing the link formula is to copy and do Edit/Paste Special and press the Paste Link button.

Cheers, Glenn.

Sorry Geoff that was a typing error.

I just tried in Office 2003 and it works no probs, could it be becuase the spreadsheet was created a long time ago in Excel 97?

nope - no change in syntax - do you have calculation switched to manual ? what happens if you press F9 ?

Geoff,

Its set to automatic, shall I switch to manual?

Cheers Steve

Airbiskit,

leave it as automatic, and use my method to create the link, and tell us what happens.

Cheers, Glenn.
