I apologize for beating the dead horse yet again.

Given:

[li]Replacing Nortel system with IpO[/li]
[li]Valcom 2003A[/li]
[li]Using Loop Stark trunk port from Nortel[/li]

Questions:
[ul]
[li]When I connect my Ipo Trunk port up it doesn't go Green[/li]
[li]Should I go Green on the Ipo Trunk (idle)????[/li]
[li]Can't access paging.[/li]
[li]Is a PBX trunk port different from IpO[/li]
[li]Is it just me that's stuuuupid?[/li]
[li][/li]
[/ul]using Page POrt & Background music input to V2003 as they are not using zones...but WHY don't trunks act the same on Ipo

I could try
I'm on a big cut right now so I'm currently screwed.

Any advice

Are you connecting the trunk port of the IPO to the White/Blue pair of the V2003A?

Thanks...
Up to my eyeballs in 300 IP sets trying to install all at once. I think the IpO data rate is down to 300 Baud.

Yeah on the w/blue pair.
If I connect to and actual 1MB Co trunk the line in trying to use on the Valcom works fine.
Trunk goes idle and works.
Connect to Valcom 2003 T/R.
Trunk stays Out of Service

1. Is battery feed (SW2) on?
2. You will certainly grow old waiting for IPO to service/upgrade 300 IP sets.

Connect your buttset to the IPO trunk port and have someone make a page announcement and see if you can hear their announcement. Make sure your buttset is in the monitor position.

Connect your buttset to the wh/bl pair on the 2003, go off hook, make an announcement and see if it can be heard over the loudspeakers. Make sure the battery feed switch in set to ON as mforrence mentioned.

I don't think this will work without talk battery. If your buttset will provide talk battery, enable it. If not, use a 9volt battery or similar for this test.

I think this is the whole point, the Valcom V2003 MUST provide talk battery to the IP Office - if it doesn't, or if it is lower voltage than normal, the IPO will not function with it. So the butt-set test on the White/Blue pair is to confirm battery coming from the Valcom and the ability to make the page. The IPO is just a much bigger butt set as far as the Valcom is concerned

Agreed. Butt set on Valcom is very valid test. Butt set on IPO trunk without talk battery won't prove anything.
