I have a spare VAL board from another switch I previously had.

I currently have a license for 1 VAL board.
My support company are saying that to use a second VAL board I need to buy a VAL Max 10 license. To have more than 1 VAL board.

Is this really the case? You can only have 1 or 10! I know Avaya like to make some money on the licensing but I've not heard of it being quite this drastic before.

Can anyone enlighten me

Thanks
Mark

Check your sys para cust options. See you have these lines:
(page 5 maybe)TN2501 VAL Maximum Capacity? y
(page 2 maybe)Maximum TN2501 VAL Boards: 10 1

If so, you're all set... add away...

Thanks
CJH

Oh sorry, yes it's either 1 or 10...

My customer options shows max val boards 1.
How much are the additional licences?
