I have never install a VAL board. We have a definity G3Rv10. Is this done the same as a TN750C? Or, is their something else that needs to be done.

The administration is basically the same. If you are going to use the LAN announcement admin software, you will need to give the VAL board a node-name, IP address, and administer it on the IP-interfaces form. You will then need to attach the amphenol to RJ45 adapter and plug the VAL into your LAN.

There are two RTUs associated with the VAL board. The first RTU turns on the VAL board with 10 minutes of storage. The second RTU opens up the full hour of message space on the VAL.

Thanks for your help schned99.. Now, I can not ping the ip address being used for the VAL board. Should this be the same ip address of the switch, or should it be a different ip. I can ping the VAL board ip from the switch; however, I can not ping the ip from my pc. This could be a gateway issue. I already have a gateway address for the clan board. I tried to go back and input this gateway address for the VAL, but the switch would not let me do that.
