VAL Board ethernet problem

I have a VAL board that is showing link status "restarting".

The physical address is showing as: ff:ff:00:00:00:00

I have tried busy/release of the data module to no avail. Does anyone know what I can try without unseating the board as I do not have a backup of the announcements and I do not want to risk losing them.

Thanks.

Ronster, the announcements are in non-volataile storage, you can remove the card and reseat it, without losing the announcments. Either that, or restart the entire switch...

Thanks Mitch,
I know the announcements are non-volatile in theory, but what if I remove the card and it doesn't come back up? Too risky.

Anyway, we seem to have found an old folder that has a backup of most of the announcements. I am going to load them onto a spare VAL then try reseating.

After reseating this board still doesn't have a working ethernet port. Still at least its now got a valid MAC address!

I think this is a physical/network problem.
