We just did a 5.5 to 6.0 upgrade on our CS1000M MG on 6/25/10.
I now have a issue that is becoming very annoying. I have a DN (6190) that I assign to bad ports in all the sites I service. When the time comes that I need to replace the card so that I have available TN’s at that site I will then go to the site and replace the card, and delete the programming on the TN.
Having programming on the TN keep us from reusing a bad TN during normal day to day work.
Now after the upgrade one TN that has the “Bad port number” on it will call random numbers in our system, at random time of the day and night. The numbers are random but they all have a combination of digits 1, 2 and 3 in the number.
I was off work for the last two days, so when I got in today I was brought up to date on what has been happing; and I was ask to take a new card to the site, delete the programming and then replace the card. Which I did at about 11:20am today. So when I ran a CDR report after 2:00pm today I was surprised to see three calls from the “Vacant” TN; One at 11:48am, one at 11:54am and one at 13:17pm.

While I was on site I checked that nothing is connected at the MDF to the TN.

Anyone had a similar issue; or have any ideas on what I may need to look at?

Is your CDR telling you the DN made the call, or the TN made the call. If DN, how many TNs have that DN?

I am looking at a TN CDR report.
I did find a very similar issue in an old Thread (798-1488573) but it did not have, or lead to a resolution.

I suppose you could HOT the TN to your number and see if you get any calls. If you HOT an analog TN, you know it isn't going to call anyone but the HOT target.

Is it still wired to a jack somewhere? Is there any wiring on the TN block for it?

I did change the TN to a Hot Dial port that should dial one of my test DN’s on my set. As of 3:30pm, I have not had a call from the TN, and no other CDR records from the TN.
And yes I did check the wiring at the site, and nothing is connected at the MDF.

instead of making it a set, just make it a pwr tn in ld 12. If that makes a call well it would probably be a first. doesn't tie up a software license tn either.

It is official here; it’s the weekend, so I will start re-checking on this on Monday. Hopefully this poltergeist will be contained over the weekend.
Where’s TAPS when you need them?

As for the pwr TN, problem is if it is analog. Also there has to be a DN on an analog to accomplish his process.
