V3 SoftPhone

Connecting over a VPN, (I'm sure only since V3) with a SoftPhone, the first 2-3 secs there is dead air then suddenly the speech path opens and the quality is more or less perfect.

Have other people experienced this and is there any kind of work around!

Check the IPoffice routing

i had this problem before in the office over the lan sound quality was great.


from home over my 4mb broadband and vpn the other caller could hear everything i was saying the reply was gittery so i had to put in a route in the IPO
