USN not being updated

Hi All:
We are runnning Exchange 2000 sp3, and Active Directory is in a Mixed mode (Prmary is running Win2k# AD, one NT BDC and one other Win2K DC on the remote site)

we been having this problem updating Exchange Contact (no mail box, just email alias), and what ever change we do it does not get updated, then we went into the properties of the Exchange contact and find out in the "Object" tab the USN number is not updated, some contact was lagged by more than 100,000, we believe this is the problem for the address not getting update because the AD is not getting updated

does anybody know how to correct that ?
