Dear All,

I have been looking for quite some time now to find a way to automatically update links in each of these programs. I create some rather large files with a lot of links, that need regular updating.

My Visual Basic code can now already detect if any of these links change (which I manage via polling) and then it has to launch the program, update the links and export it as a PDF. The latter might be excluded since it can easyly be done via PDF convertors such as Jaws.

In order to make sure I can use Visual Basic to thread the programs as an object so as to do this, I need to know which program offers these functionalities as an object ..

Can anyone help me with this ?

Many Thanks

Tom

Recent versions of Quark and InDesign can import XML data. Quark's use of XML is a little buggy, but even still it could be a viable option. Keep one XML data source containing the links and just update this file with your code.
