This came up the other week but I can't be bothered to search for the thread.

1) The Speed Dial button function only works for buttons on M- and T-Series phones. Seems silly to me but that's the way it is.

2) However, the Speed Dial short code action works for any phone. So for example, for any directory entries for which an Index number has been set (00 to 99 for user's personal directory numbers, 000 to 999 for system directory numbers), the following system short code works on my system:

- Short Code: **N#
- Feature: Speed Dial
- Telephone Number: N

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Indeed, I don't know why Avaya don't make the button work on Avaya phones.... it's either pettiness or laziness or a bit of both I guess :)

I know exactly why but we'd have to discuss it in another place.

That short code only goes back to R8.0. It is a feature a lot of our customers requested when migrating from a Partner or a Magix. We used to have to create a bunch of short codes to make them happy.
