I have the following scenario
7776.72 * 14.5
I need to round the 7776.72 to 1 decimal eg. 7776.7
i need to use that answer to * it with 14.5 which must then give me an answer to 1 decimal point.
Increasing and decreasing decimal points does not work as you know - as it still uses both decimals to calculate.
Please help.
Thanks for you time.

Just use the ROUND function:
=ROUND(ROUND(7776.72,1)*14.5,1)

my answer is still wrong

7542.72 to 1 decimal eg. to 7542.7
then * 14.5
the answer should be 109369.15, with your formula of
=round(round(7542.72,1)*14.5,1)
I get 109369.20

How does 109369.15 tie up with your original statement??

The answers you were given were entirely correct in line with your text. If you truly want it to 2 dps now instead of 1 then you don't need the second ROUND function, and the following will suffice

=round(7542.72,1)*14.5
