gotz a question for you webhead heroes out there. I've written an msAccess program that basically emulates for the client (usually a windows based laptop) what the server (a linux box running Oracle) is doing. I've got perl scripts that let the db's talk to each other so the user just presses a button (btw I would have love to have wrote the standalone in something better than access but thats what the customer wanted) My problem is now that when I make the shell call (from access) to the perl file the perl can't find the files I'm trying to read from. However if I run the perl from the command line I have no problem. I am using the absolute filename (c:\path\filename) in my perl open statment and in access. Does anyone out there know what this is about? and how to cure it? I would be most appreciative if you could let me know.
