Does anyone know how to take a regular IDE CD-Rom say from a desktop pc and use it in a Dell 6650 server?

Sorry for my ignorance but what is that. Any other options.
For an example:
Your other option would be to go to Dell's website and purchase the correct internal optical drive.
I would not consider any other options realistic. You're talking about trying to backfit a device into ~$10k of server hardware so you can save around a hundred bucks. This is not the brightest of ideas in my book.
