using hyperterminal control on VB6

i have a measurement unit that connected to my computer for accesed the raw data using hyperterminal. Now i would like to make an application to read the raw data using VB6 application. How can i use the hyperterminal driver on VB6 so i can read the data using VB6 ? or maybe there is another control that i can use in VB6 to read the data?

HyperTerminal cannot be automated. Its big brother, HyperACCESS, can be but costs real money.

However, you will probably find that you can get away with using the 'Microsoft Com Control' (MSCOmm32.ocx)
