Using Ghost to backup Dell PE2600

Looking to backup a partition my Dell PE2600. I've decided to try Sysmantec's Ghost Enterprise Edition. The only question I have is will Dell's Open Manage software interfere. The reason I ask is that will I went to create a boot disk using Ghost and tested it. It would give me error message that boot disk has failed. Now I'm wondering is it because of the open manage software.
