Using EXCEL as a DSN connection

Hello. I am trying to connect to an excel spreadsheet as a data source. When I get the connection in the database window, under table it just says none. How do i get dreamweaver to recognise the spreadsheet.

I have used the correct 'excel' driver when setting up the connection.

any help greatly appreciated

Sorry mate not tried it, dont actually think its possible. Can't you import the data into Access?

Now given up with Excel - but there are excel drivers built in, so must be possible.

I am trying to do it all through learningSite now.

Anyone got any experience of Learning Site ?

but why would u use Excell as your DB? most commonly people use some other DB to genrate excel files from it....but its your cake I am here for the party !
write some more about your project and goals and you might get better advice on how to apporach it and what DB to use....anyhow

The reason for trying with excel was for the ease of the sponsor. The person who asked for this project doesn't even have access, and i wanted all the data to go back direct to her.

The project is to create a simple typing test. Only four pages

LogIn
PracticeTest
MainTest
ResultsPage

LearningSite seems an ideal tool to use, but isn't as easy to get to grips with as i had hoped. The logIn page just doesn't work. I don't have much experience of .asp or connection to data sources, as i usually work in Flash and Authorware.

The idea was to use LearningSite to track the data and use timed coursebuilder text interactions to create the question. Using a little bit of javascript to turn the input text a different color on when the user makes an error.
