Hi,
I've got a Minolta F100 Digital camera. When I connect it to my computer with xp home on it, it only adds the removable drive icon in my computer. I want it to open up the autoplay window and ask if I want to use the camera wizard to copy the pictures to my computer. When I plug the camera into my laptop with XP, the autoplay window does come up and I can use the wizard.

I guess it's just a setting some where, but Microsoft sometimes does such a good job of hiding things, I haven't been able to find a fix.

Does anyone know what I should do to fix this?
Thanks,
Spencer

293457 - Plug and Play Devices Do Not Appear in the Add Scanner and Camera Wizard

From Help and Support. (Type "Camera Wizard" in search box, while online, for several articles).

"To install a scanner or digital camera.

Plug your camera or scanner into your computer.
If your camera is Plug and Play, the Scanner and Camera Wizard starts.
-or-

Double-click Add Device.

Follow the instructions on your screen.
Notes

To open Scanners and Cameras, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Scanners and Cameras.
If you have a Plug and Play camera, Windows detects it and installs it automatically.
If your camera or scanner is not Plug and Play, follow the installation instructions that came with the device.
If your camera or scanner is not listed in the Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard, try to install it using Device Manager. For more information, click Related Topics.
After you install your scanner or camera, you can test it. For more information, click Related Topics.

Wow, thanks for looking all that up.
I couldn't find anything that would fit my situation though. I contacted Minolta, but they probably won't know what to do.
All of the Microsoft stuff says "If your camera is plug and play, the wizard will automatically start."
Of course it never tells you what to do if your camera is plug and play, but the wizard never starts. Hmmm typical M$ :)

Thanks again for the help,
Spencer
