I am integrating Crystal 8.5 with an existing product/database. To hide the complexities of the database, I thought I would build a Crystal Dictionary. Looks like a good approach when I access it through Crystal directly. However, I want to kick off the Report Wizard and have it use the dictionary.
I can't figure out how to (or if I can) have it access the dictionary (use p2ixbse.dll?). I tried something similar with the Report Designer Control, but the Data Explorer window it opens doesn't show Metadata/query as an option to select. I read something somewhere that said RDC can open a report that was created with dictionary but cannot create a new one with dictionary.
If this approach doesn't work, I'll likely have to resort to SQL Server views.
TIA,
Glenn
