Using Data Environment to Retrieve data from stored procedure

Hey Gang:

I have a project I'm working on and I would like to use the Data Environment. What I'm doing is executing a stored procedure and return a record set. The problem is when I use the DE and add the sp to a command I cannot see the resulting columns. I'm using a Sybase ASE DB running on unix. I would not have to use the DE, but I'm also using the Data Report Designer and I want to group the results by an account number that's being returned, but everytime I try to do it programmatically, I receive an error "Report sections do not match data source". Can anyone help me with my issue in the DE. Is there any wayto show the resulting columns from a sp? I will post another questionconcerning the Data Report Designer in another post.

It works for me. I'm using SQL Server running on Windows 2000, though. I add a command, tie it to a stored proc, and I can see the columns in the resulting tree.

Yeah, I believe it does work with SQL SERVER (of course a MS product). I'm using Sybase as the DB and the OLE for ODBC Driver. Maybe if I use another driver?

Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

You could try another driver. Perhaps Sybase has a direct OLE DB driver? The ODBC driver basically adds another layer: Sybase writes to ODBC, OLE DB writes to ODBC, and then the Data Environment writes to OLE DB. If Sybase has an OLE DB provider, I would use it. Furthermore, and this is a stretch, SQL Server is based on Sybase, and it's possible that the OLE DB provider for SQL Server will work. Again, a stretch, but I would try it personally just to verify that it doesn't work. I don't even know if there's an implementation of that on Unix, though.
