Using Cookies with CFINPUT (NOT)

I have a cookie that I want the users to be able to alter the values of. If I use syntax like:-

<CFINPUT TYPE =&quot;Text&quot; Name =&quot;ABC.item&quot; Maxlenght=&quot;6&quot; Required=&quot;No&quot; Value=#ABC.item#> Message=&quot;>

Where ABC.item is the previous defined Cookie it doesn't get it. However the redefined variable is held as Cookie.Item.

Any ideas???

your question is that you can't get the already defined cookie value ?
#ListFirst(cookie.the_name_of_the_cookie)#
(if you set a list in the cookie and want to rettrieve the 1st element, adapt it to your case)
