I have gone the route of using a transfer node and set up to route to an external number using a pool. The problem...when it tries to access the second line, which I see lit up on my display, The line drops and I get a message stating that the Routing Configuration for this Call is Not Valid. Has anyone heard of or seen this?

Thanks

Make sure disconnect supervision is set to yes for all lines.

When in doubt RTFM (read the friggin manual)

Been a while since I set one up to do that but you may have to configure and use a route instead of a line pool for that application.

Hi,

Thanks much for your input...

Just to be clear...the message I am receiving is coming from the CallPilot - it must be.

I know nothing of disconnect supervision...everything has been installed for us and I'm trying to configure CCR.

I ultimately need two options to connect the incoming caller to an external cell phone. I followed the instructions (read the manual - consisting of many pdfs) and as far as I can tell, have setup the CCR and transfer nodes correctly. A transfer node allows for Line, Pool, Route, and Inter (internal extension).

I have two lines, both are part of Pool A. As I mentioned, the call comes in on Line1 and I press option 1...I hear "Please hold..." and see Line 2 light up momentarily. Afterwhich the call drops with the message I had indicated above.

I thought maybe I'm entering the external number incorrectly...it is local, say 555-5555 and we do not have to dial 9 except to dial out from our analog phone (the only one in the network).

Perhaps that is more helpful???

Like phoneguy said, you need to make sure that you have Supervision on that line. If you don't have it that is the recording that you will get.

Thanks. I found where the setting was in the system and set both lines to use disconnect supervision. Now, my call is forwarding out. Unfortunately, both lines are tied up until the call completes.

Do I have another option, such as a Link transfer, without having to add on a third line?

Thanks Again...

Let me add to this thread, I'm seeing other threads (closed) that are related to my question on link transfers.

Please note that I have already entered

Pool 1
#5555555

to try to establish a link transfer and when I do that, the call is dropped. I'm guessing I'm not entering the sequence correctly. Possible?

I would be concerned about choosing Line and then a number because I can't be certain the call will always come in on line 1 and not sure that makes a difference.

More information...

I can call into my system from my cell, pick up on my extension, press F71 dial my cell # and my cell shows a call is waiting. I believe that demonstrates that link is supported.

I'll keep trying...

BUMP...I'm still having trouble getting the transfer to an external number to work with using two lines. Can someone provide any insight? Thanks Much...

There is no way to add a link or flash in the transfer node.
The only way is with the 2 lines you have. Also the sound quality will not be very good.

If you have Link Transfer from the phone company you can put a # and then the number and it will complete the link transfer.

Make sure the Link Transfer is turned on from your phone company. Just because you can do a F71 and see it does not mean that is turned on for Transfer, it might be set up for Conference but not Transfer. What you need to do is call into your Norstar do a F71 out to someone else and then drop from the Norstar and see if the call stays up.
