Hi All,

I have a question that is way out of my experience level. Our company has an existing site which is written in asp but our ever-so-thoughtful manager has gone and bought some web-enabled software that is written entirely in jsp. The software runs on Apache Tomcat and I have been told to make the two work together in a civil manner. I considered creating a sub-domain for the new software but that won't work as the two are essentially intertwined in their functions.

How have other people overcome situations like this?

Cheers

Not shure if you can find IIS suport for Jsp files, but i knw thet if you Have Apache you could run ASP files as well, php and jsp to.
Cant remember what's the name of the ASP for Apache software bu it's posible this way.

i agree with shaddow. the main issue you'll need to figure out is getting your ASP to run on Apache before the communications witht he JSP comes in. ApacheASP is a fairly easy convesion. I ahve not tried JSP imbedded in ASP files but the refernce for the server to pick up the coding is as any server tech. in the
<%@ page language="java" %>

you may simply try after the server configurations a test to see if the engine picks up both in one unique file
you could go from there then. calling mod's from JSP to ASP shouldn't be a issue

I have the resolution perfect in my mind, but it never seems to fit on the screen quite the same way
