using agp with geforce mx

I have just installed the latest nvidia drivers for a elsa gladiac mx card. I am not getting any AGP though. When I do cat /proc/nv/... I get "AGP: Disabled". When I try and change it in XF86config, it screws up. Setting it to 1 (nvidia dma driver), then I get a segmentation fauly for any 3d app. Setting it to 2 (agpgart), and X locks, requiring a reboot. I think my Mobo may be the problem (Ax59Pro with Via MVP3 chipset)

Any ideas?
