Went to import Access to Excel; according to the Ofice 97 Big Book, I go to Tools/Add-Ins, activate AccessLinks Add-In check box...only there is not one. Only Analysis, Analysi, AutoSave, Condi. Sum Wizard, Look Up Wizard, MS Bookshelf, Template, and Update Add Ins. The book says AcessLinks comes with Office 97...do I have to upgrade online to get it? Or did they move it since the book was written?

Thanks!!!!

I not sure what you are trying to export to Excel, but lets say you want to put data from a query there. Just run the query and then goto File/SaveAs then follow the wizzard, make sure on the bottom of the screen you select the Excel file type, usually Excel 97.

It probably wasn't installed with office if you just chose a standard installation. go to control panel then add/remove programs, then highlight microsoft office and choose add/remove. you'll need your office cd [sig][/sig]

Thanks! I ended up doing both...I found that even after I installed it, and followed the steps, it told me that it couldn't "find the cell". So I found the instructions for exporting Access as Excell, etc., and that worked much nicer.

Question...I have item costs in Excell (I told it to multipy item x 9% to get total cost)...I'm sure I'll find the answer with some research, but will I be able to just export to Access just that one column so I can add it to my table for when I do a report on total costs, etc? I have data in Access (tech numbers who took the products, etc)that will need to be matched up with each item/cost.

BTW, I'm doing this to learn how to use it..I am setting up a database for 3 warehouses, and am in the process of trying to cover all my bases. If I am asking easy questions, I'm apologize...I am jumping from using Word Perfect DOS (is there anyone old enough out there to remember DOS :)and some Word 97 to this in about 3 weeks!

Thanks Again!
