We are playing a prank on a new employee and have put really old equipment in her cubicle including an ancient rotary phone. It can dial out, but it doesn't ring when I call it. I've tried a newer rotary phone and it doesn't ring, either. I'm guessing I screwed something up somewhere, but I don't know what.

I have the set type configured as a 500. I have it set as "ext" in the uniform dial plan for this location.

What else do I need to do?

sounds like fun. I did that once to one of the "old guys" on my team. He liked it. Said it brought back memories. I even hooked up his wireless headset to the 500 set. To bad you cant log into voice mail or I would have left it there forever...

We have a 80+ year old rotary phone connected to our S8300/G350 in our conference room. It's one of the ones with the earpiece that you lift off the hook on the side.

It works like a charm, except for the lack of * and #.

Using that phone to call a 9640 is pretty cool.
