Just out of curiosity, has anyone used winSPM in windows on an intel macintosh computer.

has anyone ever used the ip office software in windows on a intel mac?

My lease is up on my laptops and I'm thinking on going back to my roots (mac) but was wondering if i'll have problems with the software i use everyday.

Ip posting this on the ipo forum too, so some of you will see it twice.

I have never done it (Don't have a MAC), nor do I know of anyone who has.

If you have a WINDOWS Emulator, give it a try and let us know if it works.

The new Mac OS will have something called boot camp. When you start up the computer you can hold alt down and it gives you a chance to choose windows or mac. Its not an emulator, but actually natively booting into windows. Right now it only supports XP, but will support Vista upon release.

If I chose to get one, I'll surely tell about it.

I have been using SPM with Virtual PC & Windoz on my MAC PPC 9500 for the last six years. The only problem I have is the crappy modems in the processor modules and the slow processor interrupt handling for the serial transmission. It seems to have a low insanity threshold when you have been connected for a long time and the display gets out-of-sync.

Very interesting Jim.

What version of OS are you using?

I kinda' disagree about the Legend/Magix Modems, I think the problem is noisy lines and YES the SLOW SPEED.

I begged Bell Labs to bump that up, but their answer was:

"What, and spend another Fifty Cents on the Modem? - No Way!"

Hi Merlinman,

I have run VPC w/ WIN95 and SPM version 6.25 under both MAC OS 8.1 and 8.6 with the same results, and the modem is a Multi-Tech MT3334ZDX. The connection to 3 of the Legends is via DS1 or PRI and the line I use has a pretty clean loop. I use it for all my faxing and dialup services. The one Legend in particular has Ver.6.0 and both PRI and analogue trunking. I have had garbage coming from it on both PRI and analogue calls, and it is served from the same 5ESS that I am served by. But maybe it is caused by something else. If it is noisy lines, I certainly don't see it if I call the silent termination and put my TIMMS on the line and measure the noise. I think the last time I measured between -9 and -14 dBrn when I checked it...

Maybe your line is "TOO HOT".

Perhaps you could build it out with one of those things that Sandman sells.
