Users unable to delete e-mails after Information Store problem

We are running Exchange 5.5 on Windows 2000 Server. Last Friday the Information Store service was having problems and we were unable to start it for quite some time. Eventually (to make a long story short) eseutil was used, among other things, to repair the database and get the service restarted.

The problem is that a handful of e-mails that went out within a two hours window (10am - 12p) are still listed in people's inboxes but are unable to be deleted or moved. The error "The Item could not be deleted. It was either moved or already deleted, or access was denied." occures. I attempted to do a Shift - Delete as this sometimes works when normal deletion fails, however this too fails with the same error. Items from that time period in the users Deleted Items box are likewise not able to be permanently removed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you ran the eseutil /p option with your information database if yes


Then after that

Did you ran the isinteg -fix with database

Did you run the DS/IS consitancy adjuster on your private inoformation store

if no then u need to run these it may be one reason as mails are not in the priv database but there logical entry is still in your directory database.
