Users prompted to save

Some of my users, when viewing an excel spreadsheet that they created or are the owner of, are being prompted to save the spreadsheet even if they did not make any changes. Why is this happening?

If the user clicks into the formula bar excel will act as if a change has been made and will ask you to save changes on exitting. If you open excel click on a cell(s) then exit no it will not ask you to save.
