I have the setting “only run published applications” checked in the ICA setting under Citrix Connections, but somehow whenever users click on a mapped drive link in e-mail it sends them to the desktop of the server. They also get the server desktop if the use Internet Explorer to search a mapped drive for a file. I was publishing Windows Explorer, but whenever you open the application it sends you to the server desktop, so I published Internet Explorer instead. Does anyone know what is going on and how I can fix it?

Do not publish Explorer because it will do that, and is not supported by Citrix. IE is the only supported way to publish drive mappings etc.

Anything that calls explorer will start the desktop. What you might try, and it is not supported is to rename explorer to exp32 or something, you might have to hack play about with it tho.
