I'm new to the IPO, I have taken a class on the system about a year ago and I'm now installing my first system A IPO500 V2 with 6.15 and VMPro. They have 29 other office that have Nortel’s in them, and some day we may make a SCN with them all.

I have a couple of programming Etiquette questions.

1. 375 users at the branch offices all need to have a voice mail boxes on the VMPro. Is it better to set them up as a User with no Extension or set them up as a Hunt group with no members? I know both ways work; I’m just not use to seeing the 375 alerts in the error log. What is considered good programming technique?

2. Public distribution list, I see in the FAQ a way to do this with short codes, Edit Play List and Generic action. Wouldn’t a Hunt group with everyone in it and broadcasting turn on an easier way to do this?

Thank you for your help.

Bring back 1A2 I liked running 25pr to the desk top.

either way for the remote mailbox's works

Personaly I would use users & ignore the error list,
there are possibly a couple of advantages over groups

If the users tel. number is added into the source numbers field then access to the mailbox can be achived without a pasword and/or secured to specific locations.

These users could also be used to divert the call to the recipient before goint to VM if require & configured remotley using phone manager.

in short thinking to the future I would suggest that the customer is likly to request changes that are better suited to users over groups, but this is just personal taste.

Distribution Mailbox's
Yes do it with a Broadcast group, the FAQ was written for an earlier version of firmware that did not have this feature.
