Hello all,

I have an odd situation so i'm going to try my best to describe it to you...any help is greatly appreciated!

A user is working in an Excel spreadsheet, clicks save and is ready to shoot it off to another user.
So, they click on File -> Send As, and select "Mail Recipient (As Attachment)".

At this point, an Outlook new email window pops up with the attachment placed into it. The user enters a recipient, and clicks send - then nothing happenes. The window just sits there and it won't allow you to go back to Excel until you've closed the window. The user can close the window no problem, but Sending simply doesn't work.

Any thoughts? I hope this all made sense...thanks!

skhoury,
anything in the event logs?
did you try a detect and repair?
file size? maybe try it with a simple spreadsheet just called test with info in a single cell?
regards,
longhair

I've had this problem several times and it can usually be traced to the file size of the Excel workbook you are trying to send. Check the email service you are attempting to send the workbook through. It is more than likely the file is too large. If this is the case you are going to have to look at other file transfer options.

Thanks for the tips guys - I am going to check into the event logs and the file size.

If both check out ok, I'm going to attempt a detect and repair and see what the outcome is.

Thanks for the tips!

Sam
