Management came up with an idea to email a "computer tips" newsletter to our user base weekly. We've come up with funny ones "We take bribes", we've come up with non-IT related ones " drink more beer", what we've discovered, is that we're a little too advanced to come up with very simple computer "tips" for the not so computer enlightened user base can understand without difficulty.

I'm sure others have done this same thing, so if you've got a list of very basic computer tips, that'd be a great help.

thanks in advance.

Put this one at the top of the list:

"Have you tried rebooting?"

And yes there is no "ANY KEY" on your keyboard

Let's not forget the ever popular "Is the CAPS LOCK" off?

Have you updated your viruse definations? I know so many people who have anti-virus programs but never update the definations!!

No, the tray is not for you to set your beverage on...it's where you put a "circular thing" called a CD-ROM in.

p.s. I actually had a customer call a CD the circular thing that I put in that circular thing that comes out when i hit the button.

"You may want to delete your recycle bin before I come over to work on your computer." (Went to a colleagues house after work to help with his computer and I looked and said "geez" and he went red). LOL
