Anyone want to take a chance with this one. User complains that they receive calls that display "local isdn" and it hangs up when they answer it. Also if it goes to voicemail it is blank. I think it is probably a call from a fax or something like that. I know what the local isdn is but just wanted to see if someone has experienced this before and has some different insight.

Thanks,

Can they transfer the call to a fax or is it disconnecting immediately?

Thanks,
CJH

My guess.... "Local ISDN" is the name of your inbound trunk group. The caller is blocking their caller ID, so the default display is the trunk name and not the CLID. It's either a crank call or a wrong number. If the call was from a fax machine, you'd hear the fax "squeal" sound.

I agree with Susan. If you 'list trunk' one of your trunks is called "Local ISDN".

I got busy and almost forgot to thank you all for the information. I just needed a reasurance on this one and I got it.

Thanks again,
Rick
