Hi all...I have a question about Win XP/Pro. My users can see all of the other local users' profiles in C:\Documents and Settings (and files created by them). I have recently installed a Windows 2000 server and added the XP machines to the domain. Does anyone know if this causes me to lose the securities on the local hard drive. This is driving me crazy! I've changed the machine back to workgroup and re-created the user locally, as a limited user, but he can still see all the other users' documents! Has anyone else run across this?
Thanks for any help!

How is the drive formatted? NTFS file permissions only work on NTFS formatted drives.

Have a look at this Help and Support article. It only applies to NTFS.

"To make your folders private"

It is FAT32. Does Win2000 take over control of the security permissions of the local workstation? (ie: they worked before adding the user to the domain). If so, can I convert the XP machine to NTFS?

At a command prompt, type convert /?[color]. You can also find more information in XP's Help and Support.

I kind of messed up that formatting - try convert /?
