user password removal

I made the mstake of adding a user and password in Win ME and when I deleted it Win Me still asks for a password . do I need to create a user called default without a password to have no login prompt of any kind ?

assuming everything else is setup correctly, just enter a blank password the "first" time your prompted. It shouldn't ask you for a password again.
