Hi,

I am trying to change my IIS server to a newer server running Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6(the current server is an NT machine). The database used for user login is a DB2 database on a 3rd server.

The problem I face is that when I shift the web site to the new web server, the user login does not take place. The connectivity from the new web server to the database is OK. All the web site files have been copied onto the new server.

Could anyone suggest a possible solution?

Thanks!

Is db2 configured to allow the new machine to connect to it?

Bastien

I wish my computer would do what I want it to do,
instead of what I tell it to do...

Hi Bastien,
Yes, the new server is configured to connect to the DB2 database.

Thanks,

how did you configure the login before ?
where did you give the user id and password ?
Me being IIS ignorant: do you use ODBC or DB2 Connectivity ?

In ODBC the userid/pw can be hardcoded in the ODBC settings.
May be this has been done before but not now ?

Here is how it is configured:

We have an IIS web server (W1) with DB2 Client installed. The entire C application resides on this server. This is a Windows NT 4.0 Server. The db2 database is on another server ( D).

The client configuration assistant on “W1” connects to DB2 and our C application connects to DB2 and works very well. This has been working well for the last six years.

We decided to migrate “W1” to another server “W2”. The only difference is W2 is a Windows 2000 server while W1 is NT. From W2 the application does not connect to DB2. However the Client configuration assistant from W2 connects to Db2 on D.

The C application uses the ODBC name and connects with a user id and password

Thanks

Hi,

The error message which comes is : Page not found. The URL shows the login.html page of the web site. The error is coming even though the html file is present in the directory of the new server. Thanks
